Recycling is the cornerstone of Interstate Waste Services' commitment to environmental protection. It's also an important service we offer to all of our customers, whether a large industrial plant, a small retail establishment or a major construction site.

IWS operates one of the most modern and efficient recycling facilities in the region. Each year we recycle an average of 72,000 tons of paper and cardboard, and 12,000 tons of glass, aluminum and plastic. This waste is processed into raw material, which is then used to create new products.

IWS is constantly seeking new ways to implement environmentally sound initiatives at every point in the waste stream. At the front end, our environmental consultants work with customers to make their recycling efforts as effective as possible. Drivers, as well as transfer station and recycling center employees are regularly trained to follow up-to-date state and federal regulations. And in the final stages, teams of engineers work with compliance and safety experts at the IWS landfills to fulfill our commitment to environmental stewardship.
