Michael Gruppuso has been Chief Financial Officer of Interstate Waste Services since October 2006. As CFO, he oversees the accounting, tax, information technology, financial analysis, treasury and risk management activities of the Company.

Mr. Gruppuso has over 25 years of financial and accounting experience, most of which are in the environmental services industry. Prior to joining IWS, he spent 14 years with American Ref-Fuel Company, a $500 million revenue business which owns and operates facilities that combust municipal solid waste for conversion into steam and electricity. In addition to CFO in 2002, Mr. Gruppuso held various financial positions within American Ref-Fuel before its sale in 2005.

Mr. Gruppuso began his career as a tax consultant for Ernst & Young. Mr. Gruppuso received a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Accounting from New York University in 1983.
