Ben Woods has served as the Market Area Vice President for Pennsylvania since joining Interstate Waste Services in June of 2008. Ben oversees the operation of four collection companies, three landfills and three transfer stations throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland. Ben brings to IWS over 26 years of leadership experience in the waste industry.

Prior to joining Interstate Waste Services Ben served as the Market Area General Manager for Pennsylvania and West Virginia for Waste Management. During his tenure at Waste Management Ben oversaw operations consisting of nineteen collection and transfer facilities, seventeen landfills with over 1,600 employees producing more than $375 Million Dollars in revenues. Ben also held leadership roles with USA Waste Services and Chambers Development.

Ben attributes his enjoyment of the waste business to the people associated with the industry and the opportunities for both personal and team development. Ben is a fan of most sports but is an avid fan of the Penguins and Steelers. In his spare time he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and daughter. He also enjoys spends time coaching local sports especially when he can coach his daughters teams.
